P2. ANIMATION PRODUCTS RESEARCH

Animated Film: Tangled

The film Tangled was released on November 14th 2010. The film was created by Disney who are responsible for 'The Little Mermaid', 'The Jungle Book', 'Peter Pan' and 'Dumbo'. The film was directed by Nathan Greno and Bryon Howard. The American film is a computer animated musical fantasy film. The target audience of Tangled is towards younger children. This is because of the film of Repunzel. Tanged is the story of a lost princess with long magical hair who wants to leave her tower. The film may also appeal to older people but i think the main target audience is for young children. The animation was created to be put into film. The film was then put into cinemas across the world. The coast of the film was $260  million which is the most expensive animated film ever made.

When watching the trailer I saw parts of the film that would be funny to watch. I also like how the film has been animated to give it a realistic feel. I have never seen the film but it does look like a good film to watch.

Animated Short film: For the Birds

The short animated film 'For the Birds' was released in the year 2000. The film was created by Pixar who created 'Toy Story', 'Monsters Inc.', and 'The Blue Umbrella'. They are located in Emeryville in California. The short film was directed by Ralph Eggleston and is a competer animated short film. I think that the film is targeted at everyone. I think this because the film is short and many people can watch it and enjoy it. I like the short film as it is fairly funny and will make most people laugh. I also like the characters and the design of them which makes the viewer  laugh.

Animated TV Series: The Simpsons

The first episode was released on December 17 1989 and has screened 541 episodes. The series was created by Matt Groening and was developed by James L. Brookes. David Silverman directed the show into its 25th season. The Simpson is known for its humour and yellow characters. The series is not targeted at a specific audience as it can be watched by teenagers and adults. Adults will like to watch the series as it is funny and a good watch for 24-26 mins. I like watching The Simpsons occasionally as it will always make you laugh some how. I also like watching it as you can watch any episode and can pick it up at any point.

Animated Wed Series: Lego Star Wars, The Yoda Chronicles:

The first episode of the internet Lego series was released in May of 2013. The series was made by Lego who created the toys. The series was directed by Michael Hegner. The Lego chronicles is aimed at anyone who has an interest in Lego and the star wars films. It might also be targeted at young children who have grown up with the Lego toys and might want to see the series. The purpose of the animation is to entertain the audience.

When watching the trailer for the series I liked how the animated characters look similar to the characters that are in the films. I also liked the sounds effects and the noises that are in the series.

Animated Music Video: Breakbot, 'Baby I'm Yours':

The music video was released on June of 2010. WIZZdesign created the music video and used After Effects and Flame to achieve the final result. The director of the video was Irina Dakeva and the producer was Matthieu Poirier. The video is aimed at people who follow and like Breakbot. The purpose of the animation is to entertain the viewer and get the story of the song across to the viewer. I really like the song and the animation in the animation. I like the use of colours and different movements that the hand makes during the video.

Animated Advert: The Bear & The Hare John Lewis:

The video was released just before Christmas in 2013. The advert was created by Laurent Simon and Aiden McClure. Toby Howell was the director of the video and the video is made to bring people into the John Lewis stores and to make people spend money in their stores. The video is also targeted at the young children; they will see the video and go and tell their parents about what they have seen and the family will most probably end up in a John Lewis store later on. In the video the bear is carrying the hair and i like the use of colour and the different angles that are used in the advert. I also like the story behind it and how it makes the user feel. I also like the soundtrack that is underneath the advert. The song fits in and enhances the advert.
